When students have trained for 18 months through Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Swordsmanship, they graduate to Specialties. This course is on a 6 month rotation, beginning with individual meetings between the instructor and students to discuss achievements and set goals for the next cycle. The class is very flexible because the skills taught and practiced are largely up to the students as individuals and as a class.
You might set a goal to become faster, or more skilled in a certain weapon style, or better in disarms or open-hand combat. It is up to you, and the more thought and effort you put in, the greater the rewards in skill and knowledge.
The instructor and students support each other in the quest for constant improvement and exploration of swordsmanship as an art and science. Specialties students are literally on the cutting edge as the Aegis Swordsmanship program continues to grow and evolve.
The Specialties class is about trampling limitations and amazing yourself and others.
